Wow. It’s been a while since I’ve been on here. And a lot has happened since then! I’m back, crown and all.
Since my last post, I have started my first full time job at a content marketing company in Boston. There are about 120 people at the company and they look to continue growing so that’s a good sign! I’ve been there about six week so far and everyday is something new and different. I joined the Marketing team as a Demand Generation Specialist (crazy title, I know, I basically try to get new leads). There are six other people on the marketing team and fun fact, I’ve never taken a marketing class in my whole life! I’m doing a lot of learning, Googling how to do things, asking too many questions and sometimes looking like I’m doing something when I’m really reading the same thing 4-5 times in attempt to understand and stay busy. Typical first job things (I’ve been told).
Besides the fact that I’m totally learning a whole new field, the hardest part is getting up in the morning. I am NOT used to getting up at at 6:00am (oookay, 6:15 but still)! The last time I got up this early was… never. Makes me want to punch my alarm clock every morning. Something else I’m not used to: going to bed at 10:30 every night. I’m so exhausted!
On the plus side, I have been reading great books on my hour and a half each way commute. So far, I have read Leaving Time by Jodi Picoult, Me Before You JoJo Moyes and I have about 100 pages left of her other book The Girl You Left Behind. All I highly recommend!
For the past six weeks, my life has consisted of waking up early, drinking lots of coffee, going to work, coming home (yes, still living at home) and going to bed. Super exciting. But now that I’m into the swing of things and have a routine down, I’ll hopefully be going out for some fun summer adventures! Bring on the beach!
